Yes. You have to pass computer based test wherein your knowledge of India’s traffic laws, signs and safe driving techniques will be tested. Typically 20 questions will be there in exam and one require minimum 60% marks to get learning licence.

No. The applicant must bring his own vehicle. It must correspond with the type of India driver’s licence he or she is obtaining. For example, if applying for 2 wheeler driving licence, you cannot bring a four wheeler vehicle for the test.

The written exam will include questions of Motor Vehicle Act. Also it will test your ability to understand parking laws, to recognize traffic signals and road markings. You can also expect situational questions that present various scenarios including what to do after a collision, when at a crosswalk and when driving on a slippery road etc.
If your licence is stolen, apply for duplicate licence.
If licence is damaged beyond legibility and can no longer serve as proof of identity one should apply for replacement.
You can renew your driver’s licence online up to one year before and after the expiration date. If you do not renew your licence within one year after this date, you will incur additional fees and also give driving skill test. Furthermore, you will not be able to renew your India licence if it has been expired for more than five years.
